Real websites. Real problems. Real reasoning. That's it.

TEARDOWN #01
Med Spa · Atlanta Metro · 2 Locations

Where trust breaks down.

  1. Finding 01
    Expertise isn't obvious.

The site doesn't quickly establish who is qualified to do the work.

  2. Finding 02
    Credibility is buried.

The strongest page on the site is linked only from the footer.

  3. Finding 03
    The next step isn't safe.

The booking flow asks for a card before it asks for a conversation.

TEARDOWN #02
Med Spa · Scottsdale AZ · Single Location

The problem isn't always design.

  1. Finding 01
    The proof is buried.

Eleven years in business, and the homepage never mentions it.

  2. Finding 02
    There is no position.

Nothing on the site argues a view the market would defer to.

  3. Finding 03
The offer reads as a list.

What the practice is actually for takes work to assemble.

A better-looking website can still lose trust.

  1. Finding 01
    The faces aren't real.

Every person shown on the site is stock photography.

  2. Finding 02
    Quality is asserted, not shown.

The site says it is excellent more often than it demonstrates it.

  3. Finding 03
Nobody in particular is being spoken to.

The copy addresses everyone, so it reaches no one.

§07 · THE SYSTEM

The same six layers. Every time.

Because good analysis shouldn't depend on what happens to catch our eye. A layer passes only if a first-time visitor could satisfy it without leaving the page or asking a question. No partial credit — and the instrument is public, so you can run it yourself.

01
Legitimacy
Is there proof this business is real, current, and safe to consider?
PASSES IF · verifiable, specific, and dated
02
Clarity
Can a stranger say what you do and who it's for within seconds?
PASSES IF · understood without scrolling
03
Credibility
Is there evidence you can deliver — specific, not asserted?
PASSES IF · shown, not claimed
04
Authority
Is there a point of view the market would defer to?
PASSES IF · a position only you could hold
05
Resonance
Would the intended buyer feel understood before the first word?
PASSES IF · written to one person, not everyone
06
Assurance
Is the next step obvious, and does taking it feel safe?
PASSES IF · one action, no ambiguity

The goal isn't to find more problems.
It's to find the problems that matter.

SAME INSTRUMENT ON EVERY SITE — INCLUDING OUR OWN.

§08 · A NOTE ON THE TEARDOWNS

What these are.
And what they are not.

These are public diagnoses of real websites, made to show how we evaluate trust, authority, and credibility.

They are not generic UX checklists, automated scores, or disguised sales pitches.

We show the finding. We explain why it matters. We show what we'd change. That's enough.
§
Terms of this evidence
  • These are unsolicited. No subject commissioned, reviewed, or approved a teardown. Nobody paid for one, and nobody was told in advance.
  • No client relationship exists or is implied. Appearing here does not mean a business worked with VELLØREX. None of them have.
  • Subjects are anonymised. We name the category, region, and size — never the business. The point is the method, not the embarrassment.
  • Only public evidence is scored. We assess what any visitor can see. We have no analytics, no revenue data, and we don't guess at either.
  • No performance claims. We won't tell you a fix would have produced a number. We'll tell you what breaks trust and what we'd change first.
  • Removal on request. If a subject recognises their site and asks, the teardown comes down. No argument, no conditions.

WE SCORE OUR OWN SITE WITH THE SAME INSTRUMENT. THAT FILE IS PUBLIC TOO.

§09 · WHERE THEY START

Every teardown starts with a question.

What is this website asking a buyer to believe—and where does it make that belief harder?

§10 · THE LIBRARY

More websites. More evidence.

Seven categories, 01 published. A file goes up when its findings are finished, not when a category looks empty. The instrument does not change by category — the same six layers score an architecture practice, an accountancy and a med spa, and the failures rhyme more than you would expect.
